Behaviour
Sir,—l have lived in many | parts of the world during the | last 60 years, but never, ex- I cept in Christchurch during i the last eight years, have I 1 witnessed such ill-natured, ] overbearing, arrogant behaviour. Christchurch people , have not the slightest cor.i- , punction in deliberately go- i ing out of their way to pick I quarrels over something quite ’ inconsequent. They will 1 make the rudest and most ] offensive loud-voiced observations towards others on ) the street. They screech in- , suiting epithets from their i cars as they go by. They ’) boast their time is worth £3:l a day. But if you ask them [ what your time is worth, you i get some silly gibe about having a holiday every day. They are completely blind | to the old truth. “Courtesy ii be to him who courtesy ac- i I cords.”—Yours, etc., ESME-DONNA. ] December 11, 1963.
