CHRISTMAS PARTY

Royal Overseas League

Christmas carols were sung and a Father Christmas arrived to hand out gifts from the Christmas tree at the Royal Overseas League’s Christmas party last evening. Tall red candles in silver candelabra on the supper tables, and attractive floral decorations followed the festive theme.

Specially-invited guests included Mr and Mrs L. C. C. Spooner (Royal Commonwealth Society): Mr and Mrs J. H. Wakefield (English Speaking Union); and Mrs R. B. Neill (Victoria League).

Two officers of the United States Antarctic expedition, and their wives, were also entertained.
