Young Science Students

Two Auckland Grammar School students, Roderick M. McDonald and William G. Hopkins, have won scholarships to the annual summer science school at the University of Sydney. The director of the Nuclear Research Foundation and head of the school of physics. Professor Harry Messei, announced the scholarships tonight. The two Auckland boys will join 140 New South Wales and 10 inter-state students for the school. It will be held at the school of physics from January 6 to January 17. The boys will be flown to Sydney at the foundation’s expense and be accommodated in the homes of Sydney winners. Each student will receive £A2O in cash, a four-guinea book containing all the lecture material of the summer school and a commemoration I medal.
