Obituary

MR R. D. KENNEDY

The death occurred early this week of Mr R. D. Kennedy, of Christchurch, who for some years was prominent in tile affairs of the Canterbury Trotting Owners’ and Breeders’ Association.

Mr Kennedy did not seek re-election to the committee of the association last month and was elected a life member.

Mr Kennedy was well known throughout New Zealand as the organiser of chartered aircraft flights on behalf of the association. True Comrade was one of 6ie best horses raced by Mr Kennedy. Others he owned included Melvruse, Regal News, and Lady Goldworth. He was part-owner of Compromise. a promising two-year-old pacer and a candidate for the New Zealand Golden Slipper Stakes at Waimate on Saturday.
