FEATURES OF PEN FOR PIGS.—This photograph shows features of one of the pens in the pig-fattening house on the property of Mr C. H. Johnson and Mrs M. J. Johnson, near Kaiapoi. Running through the pen is an underground drain, covered by gratings. Above the drain is an automatic drinker, so placed that any overflow is caught by the drain. The raised bed, four inches above the gratings, can be seen in the background.
