NATIONAL LEAGUE
Entries May Be Sought (N.Z. Press Association) WELLINGTON, Nov. 29. Soccer clubs throughout the country will be asked to nominate for participation in a national league if a recommendation to be tabled on Tuesday night is approved by the New Zealand Football Association council. The chairman (Mr J. I. Kershaw) said today most associations had returned questionnaires covering the establishment of a ntaion-wide competition. “While virtually all associations support the project in principle,” he said, "no firm suggestions as to how the league should be organised and operated have been forwarded.” So that something constructive could be done to implement the proposal. Mr Kershaw announced that a recommendation would be made to the council suggesting that all clubs or amalgamations of clubs be invited to enter the league. Nominations would be sent through local associations, which would be asked to comment on the clubs seeking election to the league. When nominations revealed the extent of interest in playing in a national competion the council would take further steps to draw up a plan for its formation and operation.
