The Medical Superintendent will be responsible to the Medical Superintendent-in-Chief for the provision of hospital treatment for patients in the Bay of Islands Hospital district, and for the efficient management of the hospital services pertaining to the care and treatment of patients. He will be responsible for carrying out all medical and surgical work at the hospital. He will be required to co-operate with the panel of specialists appointed by the board and expected to seek their advice in more difficult cases pertaining to their specialty.
