Midland Team Chosen

Seven English internationals are in the Midland Counties team to play the All Blacks at Coventry on December 3, four days before New Zealand meets Ireland in the first test at Dublin. The Midland side includes 11 of the Warwickshire team which has won the English county championship five times in the last six years. P. Jackson, who was the British Lions star wing three, quarter on their 1959 tour of New Zealand and Australia, is one of nine Coventry club players chosen. In addition to Jackson, the All Blacks will renew acquaintance with the prop forward, P. Judd, the hooker, H. Godwin, and the second row forward, J. Owen. These three were on England’s short tour of New Zealand this year.

The Counties pack also includes the flanker, P. Robbins, a 30-year-old former Oxford University captain.
