ARRESTS IN CONGO

Two Soviet Diplomats (N .Z.P A.-Reuter—Copyright) LEOPOLDVILLE, Nov. 20. Two Soviet Embassy officials were arrested by Congolese authorities yesterday afternoon as they returned from Brazzaville, the capital of the former French Congo. The Soviet Embassy in Leopoldville said the diplomats—Mr Boris Voronin and Mr Yuri Miakotnykh—were, being held in an unspecified place. No reason for their arrests had been given. Mr Voronin is counsellor at the Soviet Embassy, and Mr Miakotnykh is attache for press and social affairs. Official sources said the two Russians were reported to have returned from Brazzaville with documents hostile

to the Government of Mr Cyrille Adoula. Troops were stationed throughout the night outside an eight-storey house occupied by Soviet diplomats. The Soviet Embassy said the diplomats went to Brazzaville for essential medical supplies needed for another member of the embassy staff suffering from heart trouble. Two members of the Czech embassy who went to the Soviet diplomatic residence to make inquiries were detained for several hours by Congolese troops.
