FERTILISER DEMAND

Firms Effect Big Increase (N.Z. Press Association) AUCKLAND. Nov. 20. An unprecedented demand for fertiliser was forecast today by Mr H. O. Taylor, chairman of the Fertiliser Manufacturers’ Research Association. Addressing the annual conference of the association he said: “One does not need to be an expert in any field to read the signs—the farmers’ near-record wool cheques, the near certainty of an end-of-season pay-out of Ijd a lb butterfat and the fact that Government policy, already announced, will, of necessity, direct large sums of money into fertilisers.”

Mr Taylor said this was a time when the industry must keep the strictest control on quality while making the most economical use of raw materials.
