VISITORS TO AUSTRALIA

Results Of Survey The average overseas visitor in Australia stays about 30 days, spends between £A6 and £AI2 a day, arrives by and uses mostly the airlines in his travels, and visits mainly eastern Australian cities and resort areas, says an article in this month's issue of the “Australian Traveliette,” issued by the Australian Natkmai Travel Association. These are some of the salient points of a sevenmonth travel research study conducted for the association. The report shows that 77 per cent of overseas visitors arrive by air, usually in Sydney. The predominant New Zealand share of visitors (about 40 per cent) tend to be younger and stay longer. About half the visitors studied were in Australia for a second time (especially New Zealanders).
