Trainer Went To See Colt "Th. Press" Special Service AUCKLAND, October 22. The Tafloanini trainer, D. R. Cameron, made a quick trip to Melbourne last week to see Sir Dane (formerly Dane) which he owns in partnership with Mrs Cameron and Mr H. L. Rees. Sir Dane, which won three races when prepared by Cameron last season, is being trained in Melbourne by R. Shaw. His big assign-

ment this spiring is the V.R.C. Derby next week. Cameron was greatly impressed by Sir Dane's appearance. The eoit, he said, had grown considerably and wias beginning to look like a real stayer. It was hoped that Sir Dane might be able to have a preparatory race for the Derby on one of the country tracks during the next week. Cameron flew to Melbourne on Thursday and returned the next day.
