CARNIVAL AT WELLINGTON

14 Swimmers Invited (NJZ. Prtst Association) WELLINGTON, October 22. New Zealand’s leading swimmers may compete in a carnival on December 14 to mark the opening of the Freyberg Pool at Oriental Bay, Wellington.

Invitations are being sent to 14 outstanding swimmers from other areas to compete. Heading the list is the Eknpire Games breast-stroke medallist, Miss V. Haddon (Manawatu). Others are P. Hatch, B. Robertson, A. Seagar, D. Gerrard, T. Dalton, Misses M. Macßae and S. Nicholson (Auckland), J. Palmer (Poverty Bay), A. Graham, Miss A. McMillan and R. Hood (Waikato), and L. Hodge and Helen Hutton (Canterbury). Wellington swimmers to oppose them will include the Hutt club's outstanding prospect, R. Walker.
