KIWI AT OXFORD
University Full-Back (K2. Press Association) PALM. NORTH, October 22. J T. Reid, a New Zealander who will play fullback for Oxford University against the All Blacks tomorrow, is a former student at Massey Agricultural College. In 1961 he became the third Rhodes scholar from the college and this enabled him to s udy at Oxford University
All three recipients of the scholarship have plaved Rugby for the university The other two were the present p-ncipal of Massey College 'D* A Stewart), and 'he dean of agriculture at Durh m University (Dr M M Cooper*.
Reid wa? educated at ■ Pa’merston North Boys’ Hight School and was a member of: the first XV and first XI. He: also captained the Manawatu' cr'cket colts At Massey College he was a member of the senior Rugby team and the first XI He was a versa’ile Rugby player a"d filled ever* nation in the backline However, hisi brtt nosition was second fiveeighths.
