Summer Regent, the most fancied New Zealand contender for the Melbourne Cup on November 5, had two tong work-outs at Moonee Valley racecourse today—one wrong and one right. Summer Regent was taken to the course to get experience for his race in the W. S Cox Plate on Saturday His New Zealand jockey, J. R. Riordan, having his first ride at the track, took the wrong direction and went on to the track opposite the winning post. He galloped Summer Regent nine furlongs clockwise, the wrong way.
