N.Z. Pledges For U.N. Aid
(N.Z.P. A.-Reuter—Copyright) NEW YORK, Oct. 15. The United Nations Secre-tary-General (U Thant) called for the greatest possible support from all nations to United Nations technical aid programmes in 1964 as the organisation’s member states assembled to make their annual pledges of financial assistance.
For New Zealand, Mr B. F. Bolt pledged £106,000, £75,000 of which would be in convertible currency, and the rest in unconvertible currency. Another £50,000 was pledged in convertible currency to the special fund.
