ANGLICAN’S CONCERNED

Clergy Ratio Drops (N.Z. Press Association) NAPIER, Oct. 16. • The ratio at Anglican clergymen to the population had drooped from one to every 3400 to one for every 4500 at the population, according to a pamphlet prepared by the ordinands recruitment committee of the Waiapu Synod. The church needed twice its present number of clergy to administer effectively to Anglicans, the pamphlet said.

The ideal ratio was one priest to every 1000 Anglicans.

The pamphlet included a questionnaire designed to find out why more men did not offer themselves for the ministry.
