Drop-Kick Record

(New Zealand Press Association)

WELLINGTON, Sept. 11, The Wellington fnllback,' M. WUliment, set * record in the Rugbymatch against Southland today. His three field goals were the best by one player in first-class matches in New Zealand. On paper, Wellington finished handsome winners, by 21-6, but the football was anything but handsome rather more in the scarecrow category. Wellington never settled Into a convincing pattern. It was looseknit and vulnerable, and the winning margin, if flattering, was a tribute to Williment, who kicked 15 points, bringing his

first-clasc tally for the season to 106.

Braced by a stiff northerly at Its back. Southland had meet of the game in the first spell, but the half-time score of 8-3 was a good indication of the side’s limitations.

Wellington forwards who often impressed as individual workers were G. L. Hermansson, M. R. Dunne, R. E. Meadows and K. F. Gray.

For Wellington, tries were scored by J. R. Watt and M. P. Dennehy; Williment kicked three dropped goals and two penalties. For Southland, G. A. Townsend scored a try and kicked a field goal.
