“FIRST” for N.Z. TEAM
Show Jumping At Melbourne
(N.Z. Press Assn.—Copyright) MELBOURNE, Sept. 11. New Zealand will have an official show jumping team at this year’s Royal Melbourne Show for the first time. The five-man team and their horses have arrived in Melbourne. The Royal Melbourne Show will be their first contest in a two-month tour of Australia. The men are: Messrs C. Moul (Otago), with Treason; H. V. Thompson (Hawke’s Bay), with Cassidy; G. Wood (Hawke’s Bay), with Summer Knight; R. B. Hbnsen (Gisborne), with Tide and Saba Sam; and C. Matthews (Gisborne), with Syndicate. Mr B. R. H. Burke is the team manager, and the grooms are Messrs R. Colman and S. Mitchell. The New Zealanders will compete with teams from Victoria, South Australia, and New South Wales. The first competition will be on September 14 and the main Royal Show events from September 19-28.
