UNITED NATIONS ASSOCIATION

The Christchurch branch of the United Cations Association did not have the samp sense of urgency of 10 years ago and there was need to change the style of working, several members said at the monthly meeting last evening.

The president (Mr H. G. Kilpatrick) was supported by all members when he suggested that instead of having monthly meetings “talking to the converted,” groups from the United Nations Association should go out as “commando groups” to talk to other organisations. Mr Kilpatric’- said he also thought the association was becoming a mirror of what the Government thought about the United Nations Organisation. whereas it should be impressing the public of what “we, the people” thought. The idea is to be studied.
