Strong Guard On Regusa
(NZ. Press Assn.—Copyright) DONCASTER, Sept. 10. The dark-brown colt Regusa, which will be ridden by the Australian Garnet Bougoure in tomorrow’s St. Leger, was tonight the most closely guarded horse in the world. Regusa is likely to start the hottest favourite for 40 years. Security men from the Jpckey Club have joined police and stable lads maintaining a round-the-clock vigil on the colt at Doncaster’s Belle Vue stables. The Jockey Club, which has been investigating several doping cases this season, and the colt's trainer. Mr Paddy Prendergast, are taking no chances.
A win tomor -w will boost the value of Regusa to £400,000. He has already won £84,000 this season. Regusa, sired by the famous Italian horse Ribot, is owned by a Scotsman. Mr J. R. Mullion, and trained by an Irishman. He was bred by an American
