ELLERSLIE MILE
Live Broadcast To Australia "The Press" Special Service AUCKLAND. Aug. 25 With several of the candidates entered for the big races in Victoria this spring Australian interest in the outcome of the Jellfcoe Handicap at Ellerslie 1 yesterday was intense. Arrangements were made by a Melbourne newspaper to receive a telephoned summary of the race not long after it was run and a description of the event was broadcast direct from Ellerslie to station 2BD in Melbourne. Melbourne racegoers watched Tatua's win on television today. A film of the Jellicoe Handicap arrived by air from Auckland in time to catch the midday sporting sessions on Melbourne’s Channel 7.
