Opera Company Director

(N.Z. Press Association) WELLINGTON, Aug. 19. The appointment of Mr George Tintner as musical director of the New Zealand Opera Company for 1964 has been announced by the company’s chairman (Mr F. Turnovsky). Mr Tintner will assume his Dost in the middle of January. “Mr Tintner’s return to New Zealand will be welcomed by music lovers who are appreciative of his great contribution to music in this country, first as conductor with the Auckland String Players and the Auckland Choral Society, and more recently as guest conductor for the New Zealand Broadcasting Corporation,” said Mr Turnovsky.
