INCIDENTS AT PARTY
Seven Charged With Assault (N.Z. Press Association) AUCKLAND. August 19. Six youths and a 21-year-old man appeared before Mr A. A. Coates, S.M., in the Magistrate’s Court today, all charged with assault with intent to injure, as a sequel to a disturbance at a private party in Islington street, Ponsonby, early yesterday morn-: ing. They are Patrick Joseph; McGinty, aged 21, a butcher;: Shamus McGinty, aged 19, a labourer; lan Richard Henry, aged 19, an apprentice mechanic: Brian Charles Marsom, aged 17, a commercial artist: Charles Patrick Mita, aged 19, a labourer: Fritz Lo Tam. aged 18, a laundry worker; and Leslie Charles Clemm. aged 19, a storeman. All were charged with assaulting Kenneth William Jones on August 18, with in-, tenrt to injure. Sergeant L. R. Woodgarte said inquiries into the incident were not yet complete, and there might be other charges. : Six of them were remanded I in custody for a week. The seventh, Marsom, was allowed; bail.
