Robie, an 18-year-old Michigan University swimmer, set a world record for the 200 metres butterfly with a time of 2min B.2sec in the Japan-United States swimming meet in Tokyo yesterday. His time was o.2sec better than that of K. Berry i Australia) earlier this year. R. McGeath. a 19-year-old Southern California University swimmer, won the 100 metres backstroke in imin 0.9 sec, equalling the world record held by America's Tom Stock. The United States team broke the world record in the 400 metre swimming relay with a time of 3min 36.1 sec.

The Montreal Catholic School Commission will broadcast more education programmes. It has rented 800 television sets and bought 1800 radios.
