Thev were remanded in custody pending a preliminary inquiry fixed for August 26 On Jvlv 12. prisoners on Pulau Senang. a “model” orison settlement where the guards did not carry guns rioted. They killed or wounded ’very guard but one, includng the island's superintend ent. Mr D. S. Dutton Before he was killed Mr Dutton’s eyes were gouged >ut and he was tortured.
