Indoor Bowls WILLIAMSON WINS TITLE

Fourth Win In Singles The Canterbury Indoor Bowls Association's champion of champions singles was won by A. E. Williamson (Pioneer) who beat L. Dodds (Watersidersl. 11-6 in the final. Eighty-five champions entered the event, and some very good bowling was seen. Williamson has now won the title four times since its inception eight years ago. In his semi-final he had a great tussle with D. B. Cook (A.N.Z. Bank). Both played good bowls and the score was eight all when the game finished. Williamson winning at the deciding end. The other semi-final, between Dodds and R. Watkins, resulted in an 8-7 victory for Dodds. Results.— Quarter-finals: D. B. Cook beat G. Partridge, 13-3: L. Dodds beat T. Austin. 13-3; A. E. Williamson beat N. Hecking, 11-6; R Watkins beat R. Medlock, 13-3. Semi-finals: Dodds beat Watkins 8-7: Williamson beat Cook, 9-8. Final: Williamson beat Dodds. 11-6.
