Two Tries In First Five Minutes

A bemused Canterbury side conceded two tries to Auckland in the first five minutes. Both movements were of similar origin: the forwards feeding the ball quickly from loose rucks to Connor for the half-back to set his backline in motion with superb passes. In the first attack Herewini made a darting run before passing to Whineray. who doubled round his first five-eighths to send Jakich across the line for a try. In the second.
