FARMERS’ “STRIKE”
Waiting For Decision (N.Z Press Association) NELSON. Aug. 18. The committee representing the 99 Tadmor-Matariki farmers, who decided to take "strike action" as a protest against the tuberculosis eradication scheme, declined to comment further until the decision of the Minister of Agriculture (Mr Taiboys) is received. They are refusing to allow tuberculosis testing to be carried out and refusing to send condemned animals to the works until full compensation based on market values is paid for stock reacting to the tests.
