The minimum soittdls-noit-feit content is 85 per cent., but •tuis S-anriland is not always achieved, according to a report tabled ait the meeting. One delegate said the mindmum -content regulaitiian was an attack on Friesian cows, which produced milk with a content only m nuMedy below the minimum. But Friesians could do well on pastures that would not support Jerseys economically, he said. The cost to the con■umer of title lower soJ&ds-not-fiat content would be less than Id a year. Included in the report was a suggestion that more thought be given to the protean content of mdilk, rather than the solide-not-fat cantons. because New Zealand might in the future be selling tn'ilk protoin overseas.
