Mr G-0. Rutherford A tribute to Mr G O. Rutherford. who died early lust month, waa contained in a report presented to a meetinc of the general committee of the Canterbury Agricultural and Pastoral Aaoociation by the secretary-manager (Mr H. He was first elected to the committee in 1929. was vice-presi-dent in 1945, and president in 1946 The report said Mr Rutherford was one of a generation which understood well the handling of Canterbury tussock grazing to the best potential of the country and the stock on it. ‘‘His judgment was exceptionally good, and not only Lochiiel but DaJethorpe and High Peak up the Selwyn. and Kinloch on Banks Peninsula, benefited from his sound management ” Mir Rutherford served on almost all the local bodies in the Amuri. He was chairman of the Amari County Council for six years and a member for 24 years "The aasocaation has particular reason to be grateful that it kept for so many years the interest of so sound and able an administrator." ths report said.
