Mining Boom In Kaitangata
(N.Z. Press Association) DUNEDIN, Aug. 16. Coal mining is booming in Kaitangata after a slump which almost closed the mines. The miners have lost fewer day: this year than tor many years, and, at times, the demand has been so great that they were unable to mine enough coal to fill the orders.
Car Missing.— A car which was taker, from the yard of a garage firm in Walker street, late yesterday afternoon was still missing last evening. It is a 1956 Morris Minor, painted light blue, and bearing the registration number 688-516.
