Mercy Flight Child Dies
(N.Z. Press Association) MASTERTON, Aug. 16 A mercy flight from Wellington to Dunedin yesterday to enable six-year-old Heather Hubbard, of Carterton to undergo an emergency brain operation, was in vain The child died at 1130 this morning.
She was admitted to the Masterton Hospital on Wednesday and transferred to the Wellington Hospital on Thursday.
When it was found that she had meningitis and a brain abscess, it was decided to arrange the flight to Dunedin.
