Gliding Attempt Fails

(N.Z. Press Association) 1 TAURAINGA, August 14. An attempted high altitude gWder flight from Taunanga Airport made yesterday by Mr Morris Kirk, of Oihauiti, faii'led when the “wave” he was riding faded about 9000 ft near Katikati. Mr Kirk landed the Skylark glider, which last Sunday climbed to 24,000 ft over Te Aroiha, in a paddock near a farmhouse at Aongatete. It was not damaged.
