Timber Production Fall In S.I.
(N.Z. Press Association) WELLINGTON. August 14. The sharp fall of exotic timber production in the South Island was all the more deplorable as there were exotic forest resources waiting to be used, said the Minister of Forests (Mr Gerard), opening the annual meeting of the New Zealand Sawmillers’ Federation in Wellington this morning.
Mr Gerard said exotic timber production in Canterbury had fallen by 12 per cent.
