A DAY OF REMEMBRANCE FOR “OLD CONTEMPTIBLES.”—Members of the Christchurch branch of the Old Contemptibles’ Association place a wreath at the war memorial in the Cathedral grounds after attending divine service. Yesterday was the forty-ninth anniversary of Great Britain's declaration of war on Germany on August 4, 1914. The wreath-bearers are Mr G. E. Till (left), secretary of the branch, and Mr V. G. Ellena.
