Heathcote Oxidation Pond
Sir, —The area where the new pond is to be built is outside the Heathcote county and is controlled by the Marine Department, which goes to show bow complicated it all becomes, especially seeing that no objection has been made by the Christchurch City Council or the Health Department As the residents at Mount Pleasant already have the effluent from the overloaded septic tank running out into McCormacks Bay, if they get the oxidation pond they will be surrounded by smells As I suggested before, what is wrong with piping it across the Estuary to the sewerage farm, where it belongs?— Yours, etc., S W HICKMOTT. August 1. 1963,
