(N.Z. Press Association) TE AWAMUTU. July 24. Displaying clear superiority in all departments, the tour’ .g Australian hockev team defeated Waipa. 6-0, at Albert Park today. Showers throughout the game made the ground slippery. but play still remained fast and open. The tourists held territorial advantage throughout, and it was only the brilliant saves of the 19-year-old goalkeeper, A Thornton, which prevented a bigger score. Goals for Australia were 'scored by D. Martin (3>. D Smart. D. McWatters. and D Piper. Test Victory.—England won the third and deciding women's cricket test against Australia at the Oval by 49 runs. It was Englands first victory in a series since 1948-49. The first two tests at Edrbaston and Scarborough were drawn—(PA Reuter.)
