Cricket EVE-OF-TEST VICTORY
West Indians Not Troubled (N.Z.P_A.-Reuter— Copyright) LONDON. July 24 The West Indies coasted to a comfortable nine wickets victory over Middlesex at Lord’s yesterday in their last match before the fourth test starts on Thursday. The stiffest resistance came from P. H. Parfitt (62) who completed his second 50 of the match.
The pace bowler. C. Griffith, was in peak form with four fur 15 in 9.5 overs.
But all was not good for the West Indies. R. Kanhai played disappointingly. H e was again out of touch and compiled only eight runs in the match. Another problem for the West Indies was the fitness of G. Sobers, who has a septic finger. He did not play against Middlesex and is doubtful for the test.
