Jackson four for 24) drew with Derbyshire nine for 286 declared and 105 for five (D. Morgan 53 not out). Nottinghamshire two points. At Northampton.—Northamptonshire 194 and 296 for seven declared (M. Norman 94. D. Ramasmoo) 59; T. Bailey four for 61) drew with Essex 234 and 129 for three B. Knight 88 not out). Essex two points. At Hastings.—Sussex six for 338 declared and 201 for three declared (K. Suttle 111 not out, Parks 49 not out) drew with Kent 265 and four for 164 (D. Nicholls 41). Sussex two points. At Old Trafford.—Glocestershire nine for 308 declared and 196 for four (D. Young 70, C. Milton 72 not out) beat Lancashire 278 and six for 225 declared (K. Grieves 61. P. Marner 53) by six wickets.
