EXPORT MEAT
Beef Floor Prices Up The floor prices for all grades of beef in the 1963-64 export season have been raised. For the basic grade of chilled beef-—ox of 6801 b and under—the minimum price next season will be 15d per lb, compared with 14|d this season. The minimum prices for frozen beef have been raised Id per lb; from 13d to 14d for ox and heifer quarter beef (g.a.q., 6801 b and under) and lOd to Ud for quarter cow beef (g.a.q., 6801 b and under). Boner beef minimum prices have been raised 2d per lb—from 12d to 14d. Minimum prices for lamb, mutton, veal, porkers and baconers are unchanged. As in previous years, the minimum prices for the basic grades will be used in assessing any deficiency payments applicable to other grades of meat. The chairman of the Meat Export Prices Committee (Mr A. I. E. Jones) said the committee regarded an early announcement of the new season’s prices as essential.
