A sharp fall in the value of the Canadian dollar was a feature of last week's dealings in foreign currencies. The Canadian dollar fell nearly two cents in relation to the £, which now buys 304 cents compared with 302 last Monday. N.Z. on— New York: buying, 2.7962 dollars to £NZI (compared with 3.7967 dollars on July 15); selling, 2.7645 dollars (2.7650). Canada-. 3.0352 dollars (3.0167); 24964 ( 2.9782). Belgium: 140.30 francs (140.40); 137.30 francs (same). West Germany: DMIIJK) (same); DM10.96 (10.96). Italy: 1748 lire (1746); 1711 lire (same). Austria: _ 72.54 schillings (72.55); 70.99 schillings (71.00). Denmark: 19.43 crowns (19.41); 19.00 crowns (18.99). Norway: 20.09 crowns (same); 19.97 crowns (19.66). Sweden: 14.56 crowns (1447); 14.25 crowns (same). Spain: No buying quote; selling. 164.60 pesetas (184.80). Switzerland: 12.13 francs (12.17); 11.89 francs (11.90). Japan; 1030 yen (same); 996 yen (997).
