A six-foot woman, who escaped from a gaol in Lewiton on Friday clad in nothing but pink panties, was back in the same gaol today with rer fugitive troy friend. Mrs Millie Jones, aged 36, returned wearing dirty jeans, a blouse and boots. She escaped with William Splawn, aged 40, after knocking out a prison guard and steeling a car. This explains an earlier report that she escaped wearing only pink panties. , -• Mrs Jpnes was said to have told deputies that she called the gaoler to her cell and* told him she wanted to take a snower. She wae then nude, but planned to dress before going to the shower. On the way she intended to cosh:, the gaoler with bars of soap wrapped in a shirt. Mrs Jones sai<i, however, that the gaoler, 82-year-old Mr Lloyd Stewart, opened the . door almost immediately and - she had to carry out her es-» cape plan right away. She then freed Splawn from another cell This set off an alarm and the two—who were wanted for armed robbery—decided to make a break. They were later recaptured . by a sheriff’s posse in a field. Mrs Jones was then fully ■ dressed, having stolen some clothes from a farm.
