Hockey Indian Firm’s Bill For Transport Of N.Z. Team

A claim by an Indian firm, Brar Transport, Ltd., .for an account for 900 rupees (about £67 10s) against the New Zealand Hockey Association for transport of the New Zealand hockey team while it was in India last year will be referred back to the Indian Hockey Federation. This was decided at a meeting of the management committee of the New Zealand Association last evening. A letter from Mr Gurbachin Singh said that the 900 rupees was the account for the hire of six cars to take members of.the New Zealand team from Delhi to Agra to catch a plane at the end of the tour. Discussion on the letter was taken in committee. After a long debate it was decided that the firm should be advised that th. Indian Hockey Federation was liable for all tour costs of the New Zealand team in India and therefore the account should be referred to it.

Eight Christchurch high

school hockey teams will take part in the annual secondary school tournaments to be held in the August holidsys. Seventy - one schools hav. entered teams for the seven tournaments, which will b. held at Auckland, Pahiatua, Thames, Wellington, T. Kulti and Blenheim.

The Christchurch teams entered in the tournaments are Linwood High School, Shirley Boys’ High School, Christchurch West High School, Christ's College. Christchurch Boys’ High School, Papanui High School, Rangiora High School and Caahmer. High School.
