Fourth Bluff Meat Loader
(N.Z Press Association) INCERCARGILL. July 22. The Southland Harbour Board's fourth mechanical all-weather meat loader at Bluff was commissioned today. The last of the five loaders, built at a total cost of £400,000, is expected to be reedy by the end of August—three months ahead of schedule. The loaders have already proved their worth to the board. Qne vessel, the Waiwera. had its estimated stay in port reduced by a week by their operations.
A radiosonde released by weathermen at Nandi was found three hours later 140 miles away. The instrumentcarrying balloon went to 109,000 ft at 80 knots before bursting.
