SUPPORT OF CHINA
‘Little In Africa Or Middle East’
(N2 Prcn Am*.— CopvrtgMl LONDON July 22 A "formal divorce" between China and the Soviet Union is unlikely, in spite of then steadily - deteriorating relationship, “The Times" said in an editorial today. China obviously intended to continue to try to win Communist parties throughout the world to the path of “Leninist truth." But it was false to conclude that she might emerge as leader of the “coloured or revolutionary world." the editorial said. •Throughout the Middle East and Africa there are no Communist Parties of substance, or even Left-wing Governments disposed to think of China as more than an ephemeral friend. The Chinese may pick up . some support in Latin America if only because it is the most fertile revolutionary area, but distance and economic and military weakness must surely tell against them in the long run: witness Cuba’s sagging hand of friendship," the newspaper said.
