205-MILE RUN

Air Force Team At Week-end A relay team of 17 wall, at the week-end, run the 205 miles from the Royal New Zealand Air Force station at Wigram to the Air Force station at Woodbourne. The runners, all servicemen, will attempt to beat the time set by a team of 20 w r ho ran from Woodbourne to Wigram early this mpnth. The run is being organised by Pilot Officer D. A Carter. Its chief purpose will be to take a reply to the commanding officer of Woodbourne from the commanding officer of Wigram in answer to the letter brought by the Woodbourne runners. The secondary purpose of the run will be to beat the time set by the previous team. The runners will leave the station about 1 p.m. on Friday, and expect to reach Woodbourne about 10 a.m. on Saturday. The runners will run one-mile legs and hope that they will average a 6min mile.
