CONVERTED 18 VEHICLES
Youth Sent To Borstal (N.Z. Prut Association) AUCKLAND. July 22. It was quite clear that the accused “deliberately and persistently” took other people's cars during a period of more than two months “for no better purpose than to go joyriding and find excitement because of his own boredom,” said Mr A. A. Coates, S.M., in the Magistrate’s Court at Auckland today. He sent Anthony Leigh Harness, aged 19, an electrical apprentice, to Borstal for three years on 18 charges of converting motor-vehicles and nine charges of theft Probation of one year is to follow and Hamess was ordered to make £7O restitution.
