July 19 Fifteen beauties were selected as semi-finalists last night for the 1963 •’Miss Universe” title to be awarded on Saturday, United Press International reported. Seven European girls, three from South America. three from Asia and “Miss South Africa” and “Miss United States.” were chosen from the 50 girls competing in last night's preliminary round. The New Zealand representative. Miss Regina Scandrett. of Christchurch. was not among the 15.
