Detachments from the United States Navy Antarctic support force and H.M.N.ZS. Pegasus would be present at the premiere on July 25 of "PT109." a World War II film to be screened art the Regent Theatre, the organiser for this year's Canterbury Medical Research Foundation appeal (Mr R. S. Newton) said yesterday. The gross proceeds from the premiere are for the appeal. In the absence from Christchurch of the Mayor (Mr G. Manning), the Christchurch City Council would be represented by the Deputy-Mayor (Cr. H. P Smith), Mr Newton said. Advance bookings for the film were going well, he added. The film is being released simultaneously in 20 Commonwealth capitals and main cities. It depicts the war-time escape from the Japanese of Lieurteant J. F. Kennedy, now President of the United Stakes.
